Marty, meet Monty
A young Minnesota filmmaker won a national award this week. But the real prize for Montana Casey, a senior at the Perpich Center for Arts Education, was spending a couple of hours with another recent award winner, Martin Scorsese. "We got to hang out in his office and talk about our favorite films," Casey said. "That one-on-one time was an invaluable experience. It's something I'm never going to forget." Scorsese gave him a medal for a reel of short films he put together as part of the YoungArts program, a weeklong session in which a few students from around the country attend master classes in their various disciplines.
